It seems that the world of The Biggest Loser Show is coming unraveled. It seems what we see on The Biggest TV Show is not quite the same way it goes down at The Biggest Loser Ranch.
My last post dealt with some unhappy The Biggest Loser contestants from Australia. They were unhappy about how the Show just dumps them after filming.
Kai Hibbard has written about her time on The Biggest Loser. Seems the folks at NBC and 3Ball media aren’t too happy with her telling people how things go down in the Studios.
If you’ve followed this blog last season, you know I wasn’t a big fan of Kai’s, as many people weren’t. According to Kai on her MySpace blog, the show depicted her out of character. She also hints that footage from different times are spliced together to make you think they are in the order they happened. For example, like if someone lost 15 pounds one week, it may have taken them a lot longer than a week. Hmmmm…
Love her or hate her, after reading her MySpace blog, I do have more respect for her. Especially for trying to come out and tell everyone the truth about The Biggest Loser show.
In one of her post title “AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS IT’S IN BAD TASTE TO PROPOSE TO YOUR MISTRESS ON NATIONAL TV“, she blast’s NBC and The Biggest Loser’s Amy and Marty about proposing on National TV after he allegedly cheated on his wife during the filming of the Show. She, as many people did, felt it was wrong of them to show the proposal.
Kai hinted there might be a tell-all type book deal in the works if she can find a publisher. Of course, due to the contracts she signed, it would have to be a fictional book, but one I’d still buy anyway! After reading her MySpace blog, you’ll see she has a unique fictional writing style that gets the point across!
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s more trouble brewing for The Biggest Loser Show.
Attorney’s and Fitness Professionals from the National Weight Science Foundation are investigating The Biggest Loser.
They are alleging many of the same things that Kai hinted to. Mainly, that it may take longer than 7 days to film a “weeks” episode and that the Show makes viewers think that the huge weight loses obtained are done in a weeks time.
I have to admit, I did think that myself.
They go on to say that The Biggest Loser Show is filmed in a way that people think that Contestants like Erik and Pete lost all the weight in 3 months.
Now I have to admit, I knew they didn’t. The best I remember, the Biggest Loser Show stated that the last 3 contestants remaining would be sent home for 6 weeks and the come back for the Finale.
The National Weight Science Foundation is saying it took them approximately 9 months to lose this weight.
So what? 200 lbs is still a helluva lot of weight to drop in 9 months!
Anyway, you can read the full article here, it is pretty interesting.
It’ll be interesting to see how this Season unfolds. A fifth season has been inked with NBC and the Biggest Loser casting calls are over so we know it’ll be around one more season!
