Welcome to The Biggest Loser ForumsWeight loss is a journey, not a sprint race. It's a lot like climbing Mount Everest, no one does it alone. It takes help from others to be victorious! This site was built as a meeting place for people looking to lose weight and improve their lives. We can inspire each other to achieve our weight loss goals by exchanging our ideas, recipes, diets, work out routines; what works - what doesn't and by supporting others who are on their weight loss journey. We can also inspire others to lose weight through our success stories and our failures. None of us got fat overnight and none of us will lose weight overnight. A Seed Of HopeI have to admit, the inspiration for my weight loss journey, including changing my eating habits and lifestyle, came from NBC's® hit show "The Biggest Loser". (By the way, NBC® or "The Biggest Loser" Show are in no way associated with this website or myself) My wife and I used to sit and watch "The Biggest Loser" show while eating potato chips and drinking soft drinks, and laugh about doing it. "The Biggest Loser" show got me to thinking about losing weight. However, I made up all kinds of excuses as to how the contestants were able to lose so much weight in such a short amount of time. I convinced myself that their weight loss was due to a variety of things such as working out 6 or more hours a day, special diets, personal trainers, etc. "This would never work in the real world" I told myself. I didn't realize at the time that these thoughts were just lies I kept telling myself. After Season 2 of "The Biggest Loser" TV show, I was really psyched because I saw people I could relate to losing weight, and lots of it. I started believing there was hope that I could lose weight. Not only lose some weight, but lose all the weight I needed to. The Final StrawThe final straw came one night in Jan 2006. Our Church started a small weight loss group. My wife and I decided to join. They have a meeting each week and you weigh in at the beginning of the class. The weights are kept private so no one knows what someone else weighs unless you want to tell others. I knew I was heavy, but when the lady wrote down my weight on the index card and showed me 375 lbs., I was shocked. I thought to myself "This is it, I'm fed up with being fat" Never in my life did I ever imagine that I would get to 375 lbs.!
